Sewing

Up bright and early this morning.  Well early anyway.  We are going to a native plant propagation do.  It is in Eaton Hills.
I spent sometime yesterday finding paperwork.  We had a guy come around and look over our property and recommend native plants for different areas.  He did up a plan and gave us an a4 booklet that included what plants are suited to different places.  He also gave us a voucher for plants.  It was ages ago and I am interested to see if it is still valid.
But this morning we are going to a native plant propagation session that runs for 1.5 hours.  So if what we set up works, we will know how to make more.
The thing is, the other day I got one of my sandshoes very wet, so I have been using another pair.  The thing about these is it seems the rubber at the bottom has gone hard.  So when I walk around the house it sounds like I have my football boots on and I am ready to go play a game of rugby.
Not only that they are slippery.  So I am like a rugby player walking very gingerly.  Sort of does not match the image.  I am ok on rougher surfaces or grass or carpet.  It is just wood or vinal that has me walking like I am on eggshells.  Ok first world problem I know, but it is real to me.
But I am looking beyond this minor inconvenience.  It won’t be long unlit we set out on our adventure.  Before we go to it, we are going to set up for a sewing thing.    It will involve putting tables and chairs in place.
I can guarantee there is no self interest there.  Sewing is not my thing.  I have done a few buttons and hems in my time but more recently I would staple hems in place (before marriage of course.  Merril is a sewer.  She makes hems look easy.  Never mind they are easy.  She makes them look that way.  I on the other hand make sewing a hem successfully look like I have just solved world hunger, and every child has a full stomach).  Staples may be really bad to the purists, but hay it worked.  I would try to make sure the staples were not visible by stapling from the inside of the hem.
Very few people - no I would confidently say no one gazes intently at my hems when we are talking.  In fact, if they look in my general direction when we talk I consider it a bit of a win.
I have been invited to the sewing thing but I have politely declined.  I really hope my face did not give too much away.  Sometimes it can just contort naturally.
Anyway, the day lies before us.  Full of potential and possibilities and no sewing for me!  Did I say that or just think it?
