Yesterday was very different to the usual Sunday.  Mostly Merril and I head to N3C and are involved there.  However there was a “remembrance service” for our friend Eddy.  It was a service at a church in Dayboro.
An old friend of ours was coming and he came with us.  He used to play guitar at our jams.  I had not seen him for a while but we have such a similar sense of humour, and our times together are always a great mix of care and fun.
We knew someone else known to us all was going, so we saved a seat for them.  Turned out they arrived a little later and found a place elsewhere.  She often sang at our jams and knew Eddy from bus driving days (both had been bus drivers).
Another who was there was a friend of Eddys’ I have got to know on facebook.  He and another mate had gone to the same class together in Perth.  They had been friends for many years and got together when they could.
I was keen to met him - Geoffry from Adelaide.  I did and I am so glad I did.
Merril and I had lunch with the people we knew from around here that we had not seen in a while.  That was a great bonus.  We went to a local place to eat and did that while shooting the breeze. There were mutual friends to hear about and find out what was going on with them.
We really did not know what the weather was going to do.  It came down really heavy with rain while we were inside eating.  But the good thing was there was no rain while we travelled.  When we got home, we saw it had rained heavily at home.  There was 44 mls in the gauge.
It was a good day.  The circumstances we met under were not ideal, but it definitely was a celebration of a life.
