Available for swap.  One body slightly used.  Well, very used.  Comes with the usual.  Arms, legs, torso.  All ready for immediate use.  Why get rid of it?  Well it is pretty old.  Would prefer a newer model.  But this is a bargain.
I discovered how old it was the other day.  Merril and I had a project.  Our aim was to purchase a couple of bamboo and artificial plant structures, and build a frame around it.  It would go behind the bbq.  Really each part was fairly simple.  It was putting it all together that took it out of me.
I was not used to that.  Once upon a time I could work all day and need to be called in because I wanted to finish something before I finished up.  Now it’s like work for an hour and think “is it coffee time yet?”
We had to go to Aldi on the day the items were available and get them.  The que displayed a calm that betrayed the desire to get to an item before it was gone.  There seemed to be a lot of people queuing up.  We could only hope they were not all after what we wanted.  Turned out they were not.  There were plenty there, in a couple of varieties.
Once home we needed to see if we had wood for a frame.  We did.  It needed to be measured and cut.  We did that.  Then we needed to bracket the joins for stability.  I like our battery powered drill, but I did not make it look like it is a part of me.  Burring screws was not in the script.  Pressing against the screw and having the drill follow another path was not what I intended.  And using a manual screwdriver to finish the job was not a real professional look.  But we got it done.
Merril decided the frame should be painted.  I had to agree but that was a next day thing.  I mean we had been at it probably three hours.  Enough was enough.  I slept like a log.
Merril did paint it the next day and it looked way better.  We then attached the plant and bamboo structures.  That involved using wire to attach it to the sides of our structure and to join in the middle what we had bought.  It actually worked.  Even looked like we knew what we were doing.
All I can say is some things worked despite us rather than because of us.  Still, we were happy campers.  All that remained was to put it in place.  Wouldn’t fit.  We carried it the long way and moved large pots and the bbq and eventually it went into place.  We then had to move everything back.  It was worth it though.  We have been like criminals returning to the scene of the crime.  We look at and admire our own handiwork.
But it took it out of us.  Again, sleeping like logs was the order of the day (or night in this instance).
That is why I am willing to do a swap.  This growing older thing is not what it is cracked up to be.  Sure, there is more time to do things, but that is just as well as it takes longer to get there.
