Say What?

“Believe you can, believe you can’t, either way you will be right.”
I have decided it is better to talk something up than to talk it down.  It does amaze me that so often a situation is seemingly neutral and someone sees predominantly the negative side of a situation and negative transpires.
It is funny but I was thinking about this in relation to where I used to live in Townsville.  It was a busy street.  It used to have a hospital on it, public gardens, a shopping centre, the sea at one end and a way to the local hill at the other.
It was busy.  Some may say noisy.  Yet for as noisy as it was, in reality we did not hear noise at all.  Others could wonder how we could live there because there was considered to be too much of what we hardly heard.
Same with where I lived down here.  It was fairly close to the train line.  But people needed to point the noise of the trains out as it was background noise to me.
So much that comes my way is what I look for.  There are those that see negativity.  I know someone who always seemed to expect the worst and that is what would happen.  I was involved one time and unknowingly caused the worst to happen.  He was declared at 50 runs and was only 49.  He went back out and made his fifty.  But I was the one who brought him in at 49.  Only a recount revealed he was not 50 yet.
Maybe it is me, but I must confess I do not find I want to spend a lot of time with those who see the worst in everything.  I sometimes feel like I need a bath after interacting.  Or it can be like a constant drip.  We have a pipe attached to a carport that goes at right angles at the bottom and the drip is heard constantly.  Personally I would prefer it was not.
It seems to me so much is a choice built on what one feeds on.  I am way more inclined to be negative if my diet is negativity.  If my diet is positive, though it very much to me is a case of what goes in comes out.
It is up to me to be a gate keeper of what goes in.
