Sandshoes

Merril has a way with words.  She has put a picture in my mind and it is all I think of in relation to what we were talking about.
I have two pairs of sandshoes.  One is my garden set.  I use it to do stuff around the home.  Despite the use I have used these sandshoes for a multitude of activities.  They have remained clean enough looking for me to be able to wear them to outside activities.  Until now.  I really cannot wear them out without a wash (the shoes that is – not me.  I already had a shower in April.)
But I have another pair.  The ones I play table tennis in.  I like to play table tennis in them as I do not slip.  They now need a wash too.  I did not want to wear them as I was aware of them when I should not have been really.
Merril very kindly offered me a pair of hers.  Apart from all the pink one would never know they are girl sandshoes.  The size of her foot is very slightly larger than mine.  Not enough to notice.
I accepted her offer.  The thing is though, hers are not your standard sandshoes bought off the shelf.  They are modified to accommodate the way she walks.  They are flatter than I have ever had.  That combined with them being slightly too large has meant I have had to adjust to wear them.
This is where her use of words comes in.  She calls them my clown shoes.  That really does sum up how I feel when wearing them.  To adjust to them being too large and flat I have had to walk weird.  Sorta like a clown does.  Oversized shoes and flat and walking with the toes pointed outwards.  I can live with walking strangely.  It really just adds another strange thing to my personality.
I am wearing them now.  It is all good when I have my feet concealed under the table.  Besides no one is around except family.  But Merril said I walked like a clown so that could be a problem.  I wonder how much directing I can do from this chair without getting up?   I will need to get up at some stage, but I can wait till I am alone and stealthily move to where I need to go.
The problem is easily solved.  I will just wash the sand shoes.  That will happen this year I reckon.
