Resistance

I think I had too much sleep last night.  If it is true what they say in that an hour before midnight is worth two hours after it, then I had had 8 hours already by midnight. I lay there awake for a while.  I was dreaming.  Not the classic night dreaming where a person is asleep per chance to dream, but day dreaming.  Except it was night.  Night day dreaming.
I am so kidding myself if I think I can go to bed and watch some tele.  I am always out like a light before the program even starts.  I wanted to watch Australian Story and Four Corners.  I was there five minutes before hand and did not even see the start.
For whatever reason I was thinking about immunization when I awoke.  Probably this Covid19 thing did it.  We are chasing a vaccine.  The big question at the moment seems to be if a person has had it, can they get it again.
To me, it is no wonder many kids are allergic to things that were as rare as hens’ teeth once.  Often, they are not allowed to play in the dirt.  I did not know it then, but in building a dirt road that I insisted mum look at, I was building immunity to many things.  Working in the yard at the moment I often need to bend down.  I invariably get dirty knees that need a good scrub.  I can do that.  I think for some who did not have an immunity to much that is in dirt, then that may be undoable.
I thought last night there is one thing I do not want immunity to, and that is love.  Immunity implies resistance.  I never want to be resistant to love.  So often people reach out to others only to be pushed away.  People that are not used to love are often suspicious of it.
Dumping love on anyone is a waste of resources.  I like what they are doing with drip irrigation.  The plants or trees are as healthy as they should be, but because the water is targeted, there is more to go around.  In a similar way there is more than enough love to go around.  That is a good thing to me.
The distribution of love is on an “as needs” basis.  So much in life is not a one size fits all affair.  A damaged plant generally needs more of what it needs to start with.  Eventually what it needs is the same as other plants.  Judging by the brown and brittleness of some plants at our place, all plants need some water.  Oh well, put that one down to a lesson learned.
It seems plants benefit from the right soil.  At our place, when the soil is too clayee then the water runs off and the plant does not benefit.  It can die of thirst though water abounds.  If a person is resistant to love, then it runs off and the person dies of thirst though there is an abundant supply of love.
I want to build up resistance to diseases, but I do not want to build up a resistance to love.
