Reliving the Past

I was not very productive yesterday afternoon.  I had had a busy morning and for sure I had good intentions.  But I ended up taking a trip down memory lane.  I was like one of those people that set out to clean the house and end up on the floor looking at old photo’s.
I had a DVD of a singer songwriter I like.  I had not seen it.  Until yesterday.  I watched the concert.  And rewatched a couple of songs.  And watched the bonus section.  And watched the reminisces of others.
I know I was reminiscing too.  It had been a while but I had loved their music.  So I found it on you tube and listened on Spotify.  Some songs I reckon would bring tears to a glass eye.  Well it did to mine.  And it is not glass.
I remember visiting the US in the early 80’s.  1980’s that is.  Not 1880’s.   For some reason we were going through a studio.  On a wall was the latest album of this person.  I knew all about them but did not have that album – yet.  I had it though as soon as it came out in Oz.
I was a bit of a music nerd back then.  I subscribed to a music magazine I could only get by post.  It took ages to get here and cost a lot but I was informed.  There was an album they called the album of the year.  It was soft rock/folk.  I had never heard of the artist. I got the album in.  No regrets at all.  To this day I listen to it.
So reliving stuff is what I was doing yesterday afternoon.  I had other stuff to do.  But I decided it could wait.  Ok the stuff was about 35 years old but it only seemed like about 420 months.
I enjoyed it.  Reliving good memories was a healthy exercise.
