Reflection

There is a heap of video’s out there.  Some are designed to have me laugh along and can be hilarious.  Others show people doing something really well – maybe dancing or playing an instrument or displaying athletic prowess.
Others can be someone saying something.  It was one such one that got my attention.  The person I had never heard of and good chance I will never hear of again.  But I loved something they said.  I opened a file called sayings which I often don’t go to but wish I did.
He said, “be a reflection of what you hope to receive.”  I really like that.  He acknowledged there are times when what comes at you is not what you want to receive.  His solution was to walk away in love.  Meaning no matter if someone else displays something I am not comfortable with I want to receive love so I will always give it despite something contrary on display.  He gave examples of hate or jealousy.
I had never seen it like he put it and I liked it a lot.  What comes my way can be beyond my control but how I respond is always within my control.  From my experience I get what I give.  I think of people who pinch stuff.  I often imagine that is what they get to.  Their stuff disappears.
At the very least in my mind like attracts like.  Sometimes someone who is contrary really likes what is on display and often unbeknown to others wants to be like that.  Often the journey to being different starts.
But for me no matter what is on display I want what is on display from me to be what no one in their right mind would object to.  Kindness.  Love.  Sometimes tough love.
Whatever.  To me I want to be a mirror that others find attractive.  I have no idea how another might react but if they like what they see there is a chance they want that too.  For sure I am not like that every time but I do know I want to be.
