Promenade

Dictionary time again.  I shut my eyes and turn the dictionary this way and that until I have no idea which way up it is.  Then, still with my eyes shut, I open the dictionary and put my finger on the page.  I then open my eyes and if I have to (like today) turn the dictionary the right way up and see what word it is.  Today’s word was “promenade.”
It is “a place for strolling” or “a leisurely walk or ride especially in a public place for pleasure or display.”  A place for strolling I can relate to.  Not taking a leisurely walk or ride for display.  I generally take those for the exercise or having a look around.
I must admit I thought straight away of a place on the sunshine coast.  Merril and I take our trikes when we go on holidays.  Sometimes we go out for an explore or we take our camera’s with us.  If we do we say we are looking for the best picture of the day of say “blue” or what ever it is.  We look for scenes featuring blue and take other pictures of things that take our interest or think make a good shot.
It is a nice place and used by a lot of people.  I am glad for bike bells as that tells us of another coming and allows us to get out of the way.
Sometimes we have taken our fishing lines with us but there are really no stories to go with that.  Not even the big one that got away.  We do not even latch on to a big one.  Still it is a nice ride.
Another promenade Merril and I take our trikes is very near to our home.  There are tracks we go along.  We have even gone to the local shops but that is probably a one off.  There are heaps of dog walkers on the tracks.  Everyone tends to be friendly and there is a g’day in passing or staying for a chat.
They are enjoyable times.  We really are fortunate to have such things so close by.
