We started the day different to usual.  Merril had things to do from early so she was out and about.
I had things to do here.  Someone was coming around with a trailer to take green rubbish to the dump.   We had a pile of stuff ready to go and I had other things I wanted to add.  When Merril went I added things for the dump and a mate and I later piled what was there into the trailer and went to the dump.
Then I wanted to do some work up the back near where we had put fruit trees.  The first thing I wanted to do after clearing out the place so I could work on it was attach a soaker to our tank to water the fruit trees.  That proved to be harder than I thought it would be.  The hose kept on popping off the soaker.  I decided to change soakers and attach the hose firmly using wire.  That did the trick.
I then wanted to spread stones I had for a base.  I did that and returned all I had to where I wanted it.  This involved putting crates down and putting wood there that I wanted to keep.
I also moved a pile of roofing tiles into a new more permanent place.  That probably involved the most heavy lifting, but I was glad to do it.  It meant the whole area I wanted to work on was clear to do the things I wanted to do.  I have watched closely for snakes and have seen none but I have seen more large spiders than I expected to.  They are harmless but their size and sudden appearance is more startling than anything.
After setting up the place how I wanted it I had lunch and a rest.
Later in the day I weeded the next area I wanted to work on, and made it a place I felt I walk without trepidation.
I also put quantities of dynamic lifter and weed and feed into containers with lids.  This was to discourage anything from getting into the bags they were in.  There was already evidence they had attempted it.
I was satisfied that progress had been made.  More challenges await, but having wins encourages me to continue.
