Priorities

I read something the other day which I like. “Many people have a hard time making decisions because they don't know what is important.
When you have a clear mission and you are completely sure what is important to you, most decisions become easy. Once you're fully committed, you don't need rules for how to spend your time. It's obvious which decision to make. It's clear what to prioritize.
Many people don't need productivity or time management advice. They need conviction.”
I heard someone once say “most people don’t have a problem, they have a decision to make.”
I am big on choice of late.  I have come to the conclusion that I choose what I want to do.  I can be slack if I want to.  I can declare that I do not have time for something that I really do have time for or am willing to make time for if it fits within my goals.  The choice is mine.
I remember hearing of a guy thinking of learning the piano.  Someone he was talking to asked, ”how old will you be in 5 year’s time if you don’t learn the piano?”  He was told 40.  Then he asked, “how old will you be in 5 years’ time is you do learn the piano?”  The answer was the same.
To me this says it is all about priorities.  I will make time for what matters.  It is my choice.  I can choose to go with time wasters that add nothing to my goals, or I can go with things guaranteed to cause me to grow as a person and cause me to work towards my goals.
It really is a straightforward choice.  It may not be easy - particularly at first.  But my thinking is no one cares about me like me.  I reckon my choices reflect my commitment.  Decisions come easy when I am committed to my priorities.
