Pottering

Yesterday was a day off.  I had plans for around the yard.
First up a guy was coming to fix our shed air-conditioner.  We missed him early and it was really our fault.  We were sitting out the back and failed to hear him knocking at about 7.20 am.  He left a card and went on to another job.  I rang the company and explained and was rung back to say he would come later in the day.  He did and had to order a part.
I had decided it was time to work in the green house.  The plants in there needed attention and the back of it was full of stuff that needed to be removed.  I did that and blew it out so it was ready for work.
I was calling it a “lean to” rather than a “greenhouse” as it has developed a distinct lean.  I knew I had to fix that before anything.  That actually presented me with the greatest challenge.  I needed to brace it so it would no longer lean.  I did that but I did try several screws before I settled on nails despite the awkwardness of banging in a confined area at the back.  I also fixed the hessian at the top as it had come apart.
After doing that I tended to the plants that were there.  Several had not made it while others I am sure appreciated being given a larger area to grow in.  It was when I was doing that the guy arrived about the air-conditioner.
Merril had been cutting back stuff to enable access to the outside box of the air conditioner.  She did a great job and took a trip to the dump with garden rubbish.  She brought home a pie and decided enough was enough.  I am glad she did.  I did some cutting back she wanted.  I had to stop as I have noticed that after a certain time I cramp up.  I realized I needed to rest a while.
I wandered around the joint pottering.  I moved a big pot and swapped the trees outside the greenhouse (in pots) around.
I finished up by watering the plants while listening to music.
A good day and it is time to move on to the “studio” (one of our sheds), the car port attached to it, and the area behind our main shed.  A big job but inch by inch everything is a cinch.
