Positive

It is with some trepidation I get the dictionary and pick a word at random from it.  I have no idea what the word will be, and it can be a challenge to say the least.  Sometimes I need to study up on it because it is foreign to me and something I never use.  At other times it is familiar, and I try to find a new twist or something I have not considered.
Today is such a day.  My finger fell onto a word that is familiar to me.  “Positive.”  Sometimes it can even seem like a set up.  The subject matter is one I like.  I am into it but think there are limitations to it.
I reckon it is way better to be positive than negative.  A positive mental attitude is way healthier than a negative one.  Positivity to me can allow someone to achieve good things.  Though it is weird I reckon positivity can also have negative results while negativity can have positive results.
Why I find positivity has its limits is that it is in a closed environment.  I reckon being positive helps for this lifetime.  While I would always encourage someone to be positive, I much prefer a positivity that is good for now and always.
While it definitely may seem counter intuitive I think sometimes positivity hinders rather than helps.  By that I mean sometimes positivity causes a wall to go up in a person that hides truth.  What is real is ignored because it is negative.  It is not acknowledged in the name if remaining positive.
To me what is negative can become positive once it is acknowledged and dealt with.  Real growth can occur.  When what is negative is ignored because of its nature it seems to me hindrances to growth and gaps can occur.  It seems to me sometimes when I deal with things that may be negative I find about myself.  It is not necessarily easy, but it is beneficial.
I like to be a positive person without my head buried in the sand.
