Please, Sorry, Thank You

A mate of mine reckons there are three words pretty important in a relationship.  Please, sorry and thank you.  Personally I reckon he’s pretty right.
Please says to me my request is not a demand.  It says to me you are not my servant but my friend.  It says this relationship is both about getting and giving. My getting is more than boss employee but two employees.
I personally find working together achieves way more than making demands.  Just because I may think I have a right to demand, does not mean I do.  I know the affect such an attitude has on me.  I do not like it when it is not warranted so why should anyone else.
Even when a demand is warranted please soften the request and causes me to want to help rather than having to help.
Sorry to me is a biggy too.  I like to think, and I like others to think, that I have it all together.  But the ability to say sorry is really a sign that I do not but I am working on it.  One of my pet dislikes is the inability to be honest with myself.  Pretending things are one way when they are another.
Sorry to me is really important.  It says that though I may not like to admit it I am a work in progress and sometimes I do things that are not good for anyone else or me.  I know of no word that expresses humility like sorry.
I just get blown away by thank you sometimes.  It can sometimes be for the simplest of things.  Something that seemed to be just part of the action.  Yet thank you is the response.  Those simple words actually mean a lot.  Unexpected does not mean unappreciated.  I reckon it is a great reminder of not being taken for granted.  That actions do not go unnoticed.  It almost seems those words act as a lubricant.
When tools were flood or water affected dad would put them all in oil to ensure parts that spun kept on spinning and that nothing would seize.  In my mind thank you acts like that.  It helps keep a relationship in working order.
Please, sorry and thank you to me are always in vogue and trending.
