Plan of Attack

As usual when I get the weekly email from a guy called James Clear I see if there is anything there, I want to make a platform in my life.  He quoted a guy who is CEO of a company.  Part of what was said I really like.  “…You look for and exploit every single opportunity to step up the pace, expect a higher quality outcome, and narrow the plane of attack. Then, you relentlessly follow up and prosecute at every turn."
I like the thought of “looking for and exploiting every opportunity to step up the pace.”  I reckon going fast for its own sake is often counterproductive.  I can go faster, but too fast is reckless.    Actually, in car racing it is actually more likely to produce a wreck.  The fastest go faster, but it is controlled.  Others go faster and come a cropper.  To me going faster is only worth it if I have taken into account the potential cost and see that cost as something I am willing to pay in pursuit of a dream.
The quote then talks about expecting a high-quality outcome.  I reckon acting on expectation is huge.
I have a mate who clings to something really positive for himself.  Yet I see mothing of the acting on it and making it happen.  There is a show on tv where people are given a certain amount and the winner is the one who can make the most of the amount in the time given.  Those that do nothing get nothing, but those that do something with what they have, get a good return based on opportunity and drive.
To me things can go pear shaped but it is opportunity and drive which determine outcome.  I can dream big, and expect the best, but it is what remains when things do not go as planned that tell character.
The last thing said was narrowing the plan of attack.  To me it matters big time I find what I am good at and concentrate on prosecuting that.  I don’t want to be good at many things and master none.  I want to be a specialist.  I may be a specialist in an obscure field but as I am a part of the human race there are sure to be others that benefit from what I do well.
To me what was written was good stuff and worth having a think about.
