Pixar

I must admit, I love Pixar entertainment.
At one stage, they were the only company that were described as never having had a failure.  That was before they were taken over by Disney who believed any success meant there had to be a sequel.  I think that is why we see a Cars 2, Monsters University and Finding Dory.  Their movies are very much hit and miss these days.  Some are really good and some ummm are not. It does seem though that all movies have their moment.  For me in Finding Dory it was when the truck went over the cliff.  The visual and banter at that point seemed so natural and was to me so funny.
Pixar must have been successful as they inspired out and out rip offs.  Planes was a rip off of Cars.
I read a review of the original Cars and someone wrote in saying they thought Cars was a classic. I must admit I feel the same way.  I have a friend not into such things but into motors and vehicles, that really liked Cars.
Research seems to be the key.  In Finding Nemo, the producers researched, among other things, the Great Barrier Reef and dentistry.  You can tell they know their stuff when the fish in the tank start talking about a dental procedure. They could certainly talk the talk.
Someone phoning into the radio said they cried at Toy Story 3.  The interviewer was incredulous but I feel I know where that person was coming from.  I felt Toy Story 3 was a really beautiful story.  I remember reading about the people responsible for putting it together on screen, reading the original story.  The tears on the faces around the table told the story.  There were about two minutes in Up that were described as the best 2 minutes ever done.
Wall e, A Bug’s Life, the original Toy Stories were wonderful to me.  Monsters Inc was so imaginative I could only marvel.  We have a number of Pixar DVD’s.  Even their short films blew me away.  I love Birds.  We have a DVD of their short films.
As in all things, the most recent does not mean the best, but I will watch all they produce.  Sometimes there is gold in them there hills!
