Phone

Not sure about this.  I hear a message come through on my phone and I think someone loves me.  Turns out it is advertising.  I don’t think they love me.  I know they would appreciate me more if I spent money with them.  I really did not need to rush.
I am not a good messages man.  I give it my best shot.  I type stuff and go back and check it. So often I need to make corrections.  I know if I send it before checking I often see things that are like “Doh” moments.
I know on the whole when I send a text or email it looks ok.  Only really because of the checking that happens.  The first draft is not like that.  When I look, I wonder often what that word is supposed to be.  Eventually it dawns on me.
My brother was a really good typist.  He touch typed and was at something like 90 words a minute with minimal errors.  That was a skill I wished I had.  I can touch type, but it is as slow as a wet week.  I might do it for a few minutes and then always go back to looking at the keyboard.  Of course then I look up at the screen and see that I need to backspace a lot and make corrections.  Gotta look at the positives though.  It generally means I have a good read of what I have written.
Sometimes though I have my phone on silent and I do not know when a message has come through.  It is only later I see a number next to messages and I know there is a message there.  It can be like the Good Guys telling me they are having a sale, and at other times it is someone that I know, contacting me.
Where I can I try to do something about it straight away.  I am just that sort of person.  I like to get things done immediately which generally means I can do more later.  Often it is like “I will just do this and then I can have a coffee.”  The coffee is like a reward.
I have my phone strapped to my arm when I go out.  I actually reckon it is great.  There are a heap of advantages in my mind.  I generally know where my phone is. I don’t drop it out of a pocket.  It is covered so it does not break.  I can treat it a bit rougher than I might by throwing it onto the car seat next to me.
I do like the speaker.  There are places I have rung that tell me my call is important to them and then tell me the waiting time is forty minutes.  The speaker means I can do other things while I wait.
I am big on embracing new means of communications.  Some like the phone while others are email people.  Others are message people.  Still others are web people.  Everyone seems to have their favourite way to communicate.  I feel if I know how to do things even a bit, I can talk to someone how they like to communicate.
No matter which means I embrace though there always seems to be advertising that gets in the way.  When the phone rings and I answer and there is silence I generally hang up straight away.  It is often a computer making random calls in the hope someone answers.  I figure if they really love me, they will call me back.
