Per chance to dream

Wow.  This is heavy.  Especially at about 2 in the morning.  Sounds early but I went to bed incredibly early.  I had really had plenty of sleep by this time.
And I was having dreams.  I think everyone has dreams but a lot do not remember them.  That is me.  Mostly I do not remember them.  From my understanding dreams are mostly a processing of the day.  Often things are put in order by the brain for the next day.
I have had a lot of different types of dreams.  Like ‘pizza dreams.” Dreams brought on by what I have eaten.  Or “heat dreams.”  Sometimes I know I dream if I am too hot.  These dreams are always negative, and I never feel better for having them.
Until now I never realized that the study of dreams has a scientific name.  It is called Oneirology.  It seems just about all cultures see dreams as possibly important and have considered meaning associated with them.
What we in Australia think has been heavily influenced by Frued and Jung in the first instance but others have studied dreaming over the years and published papers on their studies and conclusions.  These people include Aserinsky and Kleitman, Hobson and McCarley and Eagleman and Vaughn among others.
Most of these it seems to me look at dreams as a closed environment.  The dreams tells about the dreamer.
I guess I am one who loves research.  I love that all sorts of studies are done and mostly I find it incredibly helpful in understanding stuff.  It is conclusions I often dispute.  My thinking is just because someone is famous does not make them right.  Also just because someone is not famous does not make them right also.
What I hold to does not make me right either.  To me it is best to examine a matter and come to my own conclusions.  Sometimes my conclusions are the same as another and sometimes they are not.  But I do know I am not just parroting someone else’s idea based on prejudice only.
For decades I have regarded myself as a bit of a dream interpreter.  I listen closely when people relate their dreams to me to see if I think it contained something useful for going forward.  Decades ago, I do remember giving my interpretation of what someone told me and them saying they thought it was spot on.
My take is that dreams are not the sole realm of the closed environment.  They can and are influenced by good and bad entities.
The vast majority of times though dreams to me are no more than processing what the day brought or have been brought on by a negative external environment experienced at the time of dreaming.  I never cease to be amazed at the number of times a dream is negative even when conditions are good.  To me it adds weight to what I think about mankind’s fallen condition.
But my dream tonight was a processing of the day’s events and activities.  I am surprised I remembered it, but processing was a good thing as the events and activities were pretty powerful to me.
