Francis of Assisi said, “Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”  There are definitely times I don’t feel like doing things.  To leave it for another time would be so easy.  But when I do that, unfortunately for me I can be cactus by the time I get to do what I set out to do.
Yet I tend not to do that.  I have a theory.  I reckon it is good to do stuff whether I feel like it or not, as it means the decks are clear to do other things.  What I really try to avoid is needing to finish stuff to enable me to do what I have set my mind to do.
It is totally different when a person is crook.  I discussed this with my doctor.  Sometimes the worst thing that can happen for a sick person is they have a good day.  Good days are desirable and the more the better.  But as I am fond of saying “one sparrow does not a summer make.”
There can be too many assumptions made as a result of a good day.  The inclination is to do heaps thinking the worst is over.  It can be the eye of the storm rather than the end of the storm.
I had a mate who thought the worst was over and did stuff.  The following days were spent back in bed.  It was a matter of timing and the timing was not right.
We went through a cyclone in Townsville.  I remember being under the middle room table.  The house next to us was demolished.  The guy there decided it was time to come to our place when he moved a cupboard (who knows why) and the wall started coming towards him.  It was all very dramatic.  The roof of that place flew over our place and landed in the vacant lot next door.  The point was, it was not over till it was over.
We were told to stay inside as the calm we were experiencing was only the eye of the storm.  Turned out though the eye passed to the north.  That was when we emerged, and the extent of the damage was clear.
When a person is sick it is not over until it is over.  Wellness can be the eye of the storm.  It is great if the eye passed to the north, but it is not safe to assume.  Time will tell.
It is totally weird.  My thinking is I really do not want to need to deal with past stuff.  Mostly my hands are full dealing with present stuff.  I know I grew, and there is a wonderful sense of satisfaction.  But fresh food is only fresh for a time.  At worst it can become smelly and need to go out.  That is why it is great to have worms.   If it is fruit or vegetables, they will eat it if we won’t.
Past stuff can just get in the way.  It was great and right it was dealt with back then, but today presents different challenges.  I need the decks cleared to deal with them. Phil 3:13, Matt 6:34
