Painting

CliMerril is preparing to paint.  Not the brush and wall to finish sort, but the arty sort.  She does have a spray paint in hand though.  I know she is serious because I saw her reading the instructions.
Well she looked serious till she started saying “la karra ra cha” as she shook the tinned paint to ensure consistency.  Even though it is a can of spray paint it is not like she is “coming to a wall near you.”  I do not think she has any intention of sneaking out of the house under the cover of darkness and graffitiing walls.  Still, to be sure I can pretend to be asleep but have one eye half open.  If she looks like heading out, I promise to try to dissuade her.
It does not matter if she is doing an art work or painting a wall Merril does a good job.  We cut down what was looking like heading to be a tree which we never planted.  Merril saw something in it and has dried it out and painted it.  I saw something in it too, but the bin was sort of unacceptable.
Painting walls and the like is one of those things I will do if I gotta.  If there is someone better than me at it, I will encourage them to do it.  I spend a lot of time encouraging.
I was looking around this place to see what I had painted.  I have painted yellow lines in places so that people do not fall over the edge unintentionally.  Or even intentionally really.  I did a fence but it was terrible.  I rang Merril and told her it was terrible.  When she saw it she did not dispute it.  She did not even try to make me feel better.  She knew it was terrible and I knew it was terrible.  It is not terrible now that she has done it.
I have also painted some uprights that are destined for another place.  They look good if you do not look too hard or for too long.  The visible paint runs are for effect.
I do take heart from something Merril did elsewhere though.  The paint work needed a touch up.  Merril took it upon herself to do it.  Unbeknown to her though, the paint she had was a different colour to the original.  Sure it was close, but not close enough.  When I am by myself I can wander along with my hands behind my back and look at every place that was touched up.
I don’t get a chance to pretend to be an expert that often.  I give myself away too easily.  I could say I grasp pretending to be an expert with both hands, but I don’t.  It is more of a squint and look closely, before slowly moving to the next one thing.
Ok there is heaps I don’t do well.  I already know painting is one of them.  My mission, which I have chosen to accept, is to find the opposite.  This could take a while.ck here to edit.
