Ordinary

It is funny but so often I write about normal days.
I saw someone on tv who was interviewed about Christmas shopping.  I so related to what he said.  He said something like “today is it.  It has to happen today or it does not happen.”  That is the way I was in shopping for Merril.  Today was it.  If it did not happen it would not happen.
I did have in mind what I wanted to get though.  Merril and I had decided the morning was a “go out and shop” morning.  Wander aimlessly.  Me listening to what Merril said the whole time, finding out what she liked and then parting ways and me getting it if I found something.
We decided to leave home early to beat the crowds.  It was just as well we did.  We both commented how there were more in the shopping centre when we were leaving than when we arrived.
It was good at the place I wanted to go to get what I wanted.  They had a pile of them out and in a huge store I found myself in front of them.  I asked a helper what others they had as a particular type had been recommended to me.  He led me to them, and I had what I wanted in minutes of getting there.  I know that is a guy shop.  The ladies tend to wander isle to isle.  Not me.  In and out.)
At the self-serve I could not find a bar code.  An attendant saw me and looked it up and did everything.  Well almost everything.  They did not pay for me.  But I had what I wanted.  Merril had wandered off leaving me the car keys so I took the item to the car and hid it.
I then phoned Merril to say I had what I was after.  It had all happened pretty quickly.  We then went to other shops and did the wander.  I got a few things for presents and we came home.
After a rest we worked in the yard and Merril spent time with a bunch of computers seeing what worked.
A pretty ordinary day really, but necessary and a goodie.
