Onward and some Upward

Well here I am in May.  After an operation late March, I have taken a number of weeks off from doing any heavy lifting.  I have still managed to do some light things, but the time has arrived when I can get back properly into what I have been doing.
That is, I have been working my way around the home opening it up as much as possible and dealing with stuff that had been saved for “one day” which never arrived.  Merril is doing the same on the inside.    It is not necessarily an easy thing to do but it is a necessary thing.  We are both approaching things like let’s get it done while we can.
There was a garden immediately out the back that had basically gone mad.  I had set it up with like a secret path.  Trouble was it became so secret I would not use it.  The plants went wild, the main tree we have dropped leaves, and I had no idea what might be in there.
Besides, it was like a moving on thing.  My bro was going to help me set up the path.  He was not one to say something and not do it, so I wondered where he was on the day.  It was the day he had his stroke and life changed big time.
I got rid of most of it and now have some plants remaining and the rest in posts.  I feel while it is still what we regard as an oasis in hot weather it is now more open and accessible.  I had done that before my operation.  It had involved some heavy lifting.
I have also rearranged the shed we call “the studio” (to identify which shed).  It is way more user friendly now.  I changed up a car port we have and want to use as our plant preparation area.  The garden shed (“mini me”) has been reorganized along with an area next to it used for keeping large stuff that does not fit or belong in storage.  I have also re set up a garden bed where Merril is going to plant a couple of fruit bearing plants.
That is where I am up to.  The wood pile is next.  It was good for its time, but its time has passed.  We will keep what we want to keep and intend getting rid of heaps.  Good stuff we will give away and rubbish wood will go to the dump.
That does not take into account the front yard.  Some trees we planted there have a short life span and have died.  Not before becoming large.  We will open up that area a bit.  While still being a “bush garden” we will have it more controlled.
Then of course there is the old garage inside and out.  It all should keep us busy for a while.
