Talk about unco.  Well I do not need to, but I did not think what was happening augured well for the day.
I suppose I deserved it.  It started with Merril having her back to me and I shuffling around behind her as she turned.  She knew I was there and wanted to say something, but I was not there as she turned.
We both needed to go out and go separate ways, and our tradition is to give a kiss and leave.  Boy did we have the approach to each other all wrong.  Eventually we docked, but were laughing pretty hard.
Next up was the hug.  Parallel arms are not good for that.  We were like a space craft trying to rendezvous with the International Space Station and careering off into space.  Eventually the arms went different ways and a hug was possible, but we were laughing a lot.
We assured each other that we would try not to walk into anything.
I then headed to the door to go to my car.  Merril followed to say good-bye.  It was then I realized I needed to use another door as my car was not in the direction I was heading.  Steps needed to be retraced.
We have now both been out and come home again without further incident.  But admittedly the day is still young.
We know anything is possible.  I have a picture of Merril going through a bin when she realized it could contain an item she needed.  I look for stuff and claim I cannot find it, and it is staring me in the face.
I have found many people are like us and have a “special place.”  That is, a place where something is put because it is not obvious.  Little do we know it is not obvious now and never will be to anyone (including us) again.  I reckon we will find heaps when we find our “special place.”
I am emotionally scared by trying to get bird baths level.  I know I have mentioned it before, but it used to be easy peasy.  I did not need to even think about it.  Now it is with dread I approached the setting up of bird baths.  My confidence has been shattered.  Now I think setting up level bird baths is the stuff of miracles.
There are days when it would probably be good to skip the day.  To stay in bed.  To try again the next day.  I know that is not facing the day, but often I am willing to face it as an undercover agent.
But it all sort of works out.  All those except those closest to us knows we are fairly normal.  Sometimes we almost believe it ourselves, and then we have days like today.
