Wooo.  None of us, I don’t think, like to hear “no.”
I may have what I consider a wonderful idea (like, say, giving me a million dollars) and I think it is the bees knees.  I am offended when someone does not see it that way.  I am especially offended, if it is in that person’s power to grant my wish, and they deny me.
Often I have invested time and effort into the idea.  I think the idea is a you beaut, yet for whatever reasons, it may be denied.  As donkey says “you cut me deep Skrek.”
Although I will probably choke on admitting it, sometimes a no is the best thing for me.   Ok, if I know the reasoning is floored, then I will have more trouble, but if I do not have the power, then no matter what is said, or the reason given, I must accept the outcome.  Sometimes it feels like I imagine chewing glass may feel like.
Still, down the track I may be thankful for the no.  It is hard for me to believe, but sometimes I do not know best (that is a joke).  I remember in the movie Bruce Almighty, he was God, and the easiest way for him to answer the flood of requests he got, was to say yes to them all.  Well did that cause havoc?  Everyone won the lotto, and weird things happened. Ok small things amuse small minds, but in that movie, he was asking God for a sign and driving behind a truck full of signs that said things like, “wrong way”, “go back”.
Although I don’t like admitting it, sometimes me getting a no, is character building.  Perhaps if everything was yes, then I would not be prepared for what eventuates.  Sometimes no is the best thing that could happen to me.  I may not be happy with it at the time.  I may burr up.  But I do not know what is good for me sometimes.  I can think I do.  I may have it all planned a certain way, and then a curve ball is thrown.
If I have gotten the strength, there is a good chance I will be able to handle a no.  If I have not, then I may want to take my bat and ball home.  Maybe it happens everywhere and all the time, but I know a couple of people that have baulked at a hurdle.  That honestly distresses me.  As far as I know, none of us is perfect.  I care about other, but I have my hands full with just me!  Most of us seem to be just giving life our best shot.  As I heard someone say, “they are just trying to hustle up a living like the rest of us.”  I cannot pretend I never make mistakes.  I do.  I need to move on, and it is in the interest of others to do the same.
I don’t like hearing “no.”   Never have, never will.  But sometimes ….sigh…..it is good for me.
