When someone says something, I like to consider what is said.  Sometimes I agree with all that is said, and sometimes none of it.  At other times I agree with a part of it.
It matters not to me if the statement is by a famous person or not.  I am very much anti the view that just because someone famous said it, it must be true.  Actually in this day and age we seem to be getting people to endorse things that are totally outside their area of expertise. It is as though because it is them, what they say must be true.  I just need to look at the ads for some products.
The quote below is the gist of something I hold to.  That is, that most of life is routine.  If I examine my life then I would say 98% is day to day stuff, and 2% is exceptional.  It is because that is the way it is I reckon, I find it really important to appreciate and make the most of the day to day routines.
The quote below is by James Clear and I like it.
"Many people view their habits and routines as obstacles or, at the very least, obligations to get through. Making the morning coffee, driving your kids to the next activity, preparing the next meal—we often see our routines as chores to be completed.
But these are not moments to be dismissed. They are life. Making coffee can be a peaceful ritual—perhaps even a fulfilling one—if done with care rather than rushed to completion. It’s about the amount of attention you devote to these simple moments, and whether you choose to appreciate them or bulldoze through them on the way to the next task.
Find the beauty and joy in your daily rituals and you will find beauty and joy in your daily life. To love your habits is to love your days, and to love your days is to love your life."
I often say that it can be something as simple as washing up, or gardening, or when I was employed heading off to work and doing what I was paid to do.  If life is just the weekend then 5/7th of my life is mundane, and 2/7ths exciting.
I do not see things that way.  All of life is what I make it.  Sometimes the mundane is just that, mundane, but it is never because I despise the mundane.  Gold is found in amongst lots of dirt.  Good chance I will miss it if I am not looking for it.
