Mundane Surprises

Well yesterday turned out much like we thought.  We ran our market as usual.  What has been different about that is there is another person selling (with all proceeds to the pantry) at another table.  There seems to be so much happening and our takings, while not large by any standard, have been way above the benchmark we have been using.
We took what had not sold to trash and treasure.  Again it was something unexpected but welcome.  We normally avoid visiting the place of a weekend as it is so busy.  We did a drive by to see if it was crowded beyond our willingness to wait.
When we arrived there was hardly anyone there.  We were in and out so quickly it was amazing.  I said to a mate it was like the clouds parted when we arrived and then when we were leaving it was like the place was chockers again.  I would not expect that every time, but when it happens, I am grateful and all in.
During the day I heard something I did not expect to hear but it makes so much sense and really brings a sense of relief.  The person said that sometimes doubts are very healthy.
The reason given for their health to me is doubts tend to make me explore. My nature is not to believe something just because I am told it but because I find it true for myself.  So rather than doubts being a sign of something being untrue, it is a sign of a willingness to pursue the truth or otherwise of something.
I personally have no desire to build something on an unsure foundation.  I will give up on something that is my belief alone and crumbles at the first examination.  By the same token I will not write off something unless I prove to myself its unreliability.
Again I was thinking about such things on a very typical day. I do love things like that.  For me, they lift a mundane day to a different level.
