Multiplication by Division
I suppose it makes sense we were watching gardening Australia.  I had spent the morning there.  I said I was committing three hours to it and it ended up being four.
That was ok.  I spent the first part cutting back lots of trees and mulching.  It is our plan to try and reduce the weeding plus it means we are not throwing out a lot of plant material but reusing what we can.
I have actually been looking forward to this time as I feel I can do a number of jobs I have been putting off.
But things ain’t what they used to be.  The labour has left me so stiff.  I noticed I was getting slower and slower and drinking more and more water.  Still I completed most of what I set out to achieve.
Trouble is another job has been invented for me.  It will involve clearing out some garden that really has not worked and placing the swing in there.  It should look good when done but there is a bit to do between now and when it is finished.
Tomorrow is predicted to hit 35 degrees so I am going to start early and see what I can get done in a couple of hours.  After that I can see the air con getting a workout.
But I must admit I am here a I was inspired by something said on Gardening Australia.  The compare said coming up a guy was going to get multiplication by division.  That to me is like a “way to go” moment.  I think.  I have found that often what is true in the plant world is true in my life.
I have found getting rid of weeds is a good thing as well as pruning plants to encourage more growth.  Some plants we just need to say, “right, we are going to do it.”  For some if we waited until after flowing it would never get done.  Our dwarf rose was like that.  I think they saw me coming.  It is the biggest dwarf rose I have ever seen.  But it was always in flower.  We decided it needed to be cut back as it was reaching out and attacking passer byes.
Anyway multiplication by division is what we intend to do with some of our plants.  It is on our “to do” list.  Once they are established we will sell them.  We have heaps of spare pots and we have found a use for them.
We even recently went to a how to propagate course so we look like we know what we are doing.  All I can say is I am glad this is being down away from prying eyes.  Our propagation has not been as successful as we would like.  But we are determined.  We will make it work.
So we will pick out the best plants we have for doing it.  We have discovered a number and I am sure we will discover a number more.  Multiplication by division is the way the experts do it so I reckon follow ways proven to work.
