Mulching

I guess it is just the way I am.  I am an evidence-based person.
There is much I partake of that is a hope but it is not a hope borne of speculation but of what has gone before.  I jump in the car.  I really do not know how it works but I have seen proof enough that it does work.  The same goes for flying.
I must admit a concern for those who fly into space.  It is not only incredibly expensive it is new technology.  The movie said in space no one can hear you scream.  Well if something goes wrong up there, there are some very rich folk likely about to meet their Maker.
I was sus where I worked.  We embraced the new technology of two companies.  It did what we wanted, but we were like guinea pigs and ironed out failings as they occurred.  Early adopters are needed, but those that come later enjoy the benefit of many bugs gone.
I am fairly cautious by nature, and it appears I am even more so the older I get.  Particularly in matters of life and death, I need to know something works and is fit for purpose.  When it is not though, I do not want to be the one who embraces something only to discover its claims are limited.
But when it comes to mulching I am learning again and again what is known.  The guy across the road has mulched his garden.  I never see a weed.  Our place is a different story.
Every six months or so, despite mulching, we decide we have had enough of the weeds and it is time to do something.  Lock down has been good for that.  The place looks a picture.  We have been out doing heaps of weeding and cutting back.  But my dream remains the same.  I want weeding to be a thing of the past and anything that is done is an improvement rather than just bringing it back to what it was.
I understand I need to make the mulch thicker.  I know that because I asked a question on-line and people who answered told me.
But knowing it and doing it are two different things.  We will hit the place hard with council mulch.  Hopefully it will mean mulching every six months or so instead of weeding.  This place represents a downsizing, but the older I get the bigger the job seems.
The evidence suggests there is a better way.  I just need to look across the road to see that.  Also I look at parks and see mulching and not a weed in sight.
For one who holds strongly to not reinventing the wheel, I spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel.  But the evidence shows I do not need to.  There is coming a day when no child shall live in poverty.  Justice will be the domain of all rather than favouring the rich.  Err sorry I blame Martin Luther King.  There is coming a day when mulching will see many weeds in our garden a thing of the past.  Just a look across the road is evidence of that.
