Already today feels special.  We are heading up to the Sunshine Coast to have lunch with my brother.  Celebrating his birthday.   And it is the first day in at least 12 I have woken up with a clear nasal passage.  It was a wonder to me.  Like a long forgotten delight.  I admit I just lay there a while taking it in….and out….and in again.
I have sold a house in Brisbane.
Ok so I normally like a better segway into the topic so it flows better.  But I could not think of one.  So I blurted it out.  I have sold a house in Brisbane.  Mr Franks did not like it.  Said I had no right to sell his house without his permission.
I just think he did not like people suddenly appearing for the Open House he knew nothing about.  He said he was just trying to have lunch.  It seems to me he did not like people critiquing his place and offering him way less than he thought it was worth – if he had wanted to sell in the first place.
We have remained friends though.  Well I have tried.  He just always seems too busy to take my calls.  I did learn from that.  I have never done it again.  Well, only once.  Mrs Bornhoffenmiserkramenhouseneinsfidrie.  I have not kept in touch with her.  Her name was too long.
I am surprised she never calls in.  I see her drive past occasionally, but she never stops.  She always speeds off when I approach.  I think the last straw for her was all the people in the front yard for the auction.
She was pleasantly surprised though at the price.  She was not expecting that.  She seemed to not expect a lot of things.
She was pretty stubborn.  For a long while she co-habited with the family that bought the place.  Eventually she left though.  I think she may have just had enough.  Her kids had all married and left home and now there were another lot.  I just think she did not want to go through it all again.
Anyway I have learnt.  It has been a pretty steep learning curve.  But I know now how important it is for me to do my research first.  The prices I ask need to be realistic as the market will only pay what it thinks the place is worth.
