Moving Stuff

Click here to I cleaned up our former pool area yesterday.  I am only telling you this, because I want to impress you.  Impressed?  I worked really hard?  Very impressed?  I died I worked so hard?  Totally impressed?  Ok the dying bit was not true, but apart from that it was true.
I find myself doing less and less physical labour these days.  If something needs doing, I get a young person in.  Can I play the age card?  After all I am getting long in the tooth.  Besides I can help people out (que visionary music) “when someone needs work, I will phone.  When someone is willing to do the hard yards, I will give them a call.”  In short, I am an all round good guy (please turn off that music now).
The former pool area needed doing for a couple of reasons.  I had put lots of stuff down the side against the wall.  Our cover has ripped.  In doing that, the cover extends a few centimetres into the neighbours place.  I do not think that is fair.  My yard is for me, his yard is for him.  I do not believe in extending my boundaries for my own convenience.
That did not stop a former person in that house, suggesting they build the wall in such a way it would have cut off half our yard, and it would have become theirs.  We were on to them though.  We saw through that one.
The stuff I had against the wall was getting wet.  A “cover” and “getting wet” do not seem to go together.  In my world they could but my world is not the same for others.  I knew I had to stop staring meaningfully into the middle distance and do something.  It was a radical thought I know, but I was willing to try something.
I had to move everything at the side, and put it in the centre.  I did not want to do it, as besides being lazy, I thought it looked real good when I first set it up.  I guess it was time to move things though.  The growth on one thing sort of told me that.  Besides, moving things helped me realize I had things I didn’t know I had.
The challenge for me though, was what I had under a table.  There were tarps and mesh.  I know, spiders love mesh.  I seem to always come across spiders when dealing with mesh.
So I firmly planted my feet, I ensured I knew my escape route and then I bent and flung.  Sure enough, there they were.  One was a biggy and I watched him.  I really do not mind spiders when they are there and I am here.  It is when they take me by surprise, I am surprised.  I am not into killing stuff that poses no threat.  I once put on a sand shoe only to discover there was a tarantula at the end of it.  The blighter bit me!  I so do not blame him though.  From having heaps of room and a dark spot, he was suddenly really cramped.  I let him out on my balcony, and he went scurrying away.  For other stuff I get them before they get me.
I successfully moved stuff, tied down our cover, and the place looks real neat.  I just need to deal with the empty pots now.  There can be snakes in them, but I have devised a clever plan.  I just need to do it.  Therein lies the challenge.edit.
