Mother Teresa's Example

It’s funny how thoughts get a hold of me.  Recently I thought about “making a fuss of those who are not used to being made a fuss of.”  I mean the ones that are not affluent or influential.  The ones who, more often than not, are despised or thought little of.
I am what I am and was born into where I was born.  Really although my means are modest I am in the top percentage in the world as far as wealth goes.  Not because I have a lot but because I have more than millions. Really what I have in many cases is due to the exploitation of others who work 24/7 scaping together a living for them and their families.  My shirts or shoes are the result of their labour.
But realizing that, I am not down on myself, but I do have a “level playing field” respect and admiration.  I do want to give all the dignity I believe everyone deserves.
I guess that sort of thing is more real to me having seen the devastating effects of strokes on others.  No one wishes such things on themselves but often need to live with the consequences of such things.
Lately I have been looking at the life of Mother Teresa.  There is something I admire big time about her.  She dedicated her life to the who were sick and dying. I know I can talk the talk but walking the walk is harder.  She got down and dirty whereas I am more hesitant.  To me it is one thing not to know something, and it is another to know and not to do.
I admit that, though I know I fall well short of the ideal, caring about others is the direction I am glad I am heading.  As far as I can see everyone needs it.
