Only a brain surgeon could really say “well yes, it is actually brain surgery.”
I am just doing a stock take of things I may have going for me.  I am not concentrating on the things I know I lack as that would be a much longer list.  Besides this is all about what I can do not what I cannot do.
If I were to list my assets I think one of them is I can be trusted with a little bit.
The reason I am going down this track is I think so often there is a focus on the negatives.  I can be so inclined to highlight what I cannot do.  What is not my strength.  To chase the unachievable when it was never for me anyway.
I am the way I am and what I have fits perfectly with others.  They may be lacking in the area I am strong in and vice versa.  Together we can make things happen.
I guess it is a case of using what I have.  If I do not have something and need it, I will work at getting it, but in the meantime, I will use what I have.
I seem to have a bit of a modus operandi that informs me that the only way I know I need something is if I am doing, and believe that what I say I need has become evident in doing a particular job.  I have seen it too often where someone says they want something that will  help, but there has been no evidence of a task being undertaken in the first place.  It may be that what is declared as being useful is, but to me it is only useful when the task is actually undertaken.  That is what I have found for me anyway.
I collect stamps.  I came into possession of thousands.  I was attempting to classify them and marry heaps I had together.  In the process of doing that, I thought if I have a pile of sleeves, I can do this easier.  So I got them.  I was doing and my need became obvious.
I need to use what I have.  This thinking spills over into a number of areas.  I reckon I need to use what I have, if I want more.  It seems counter productive to me to expect more when I am not using to the full what I have.  More may be a perfectly legitimate desire, but to me the expectation of more is tied up in making the best use of what I already have.
I see this at work in many situations.  Someone may be given more but if they squandered little, they are guaranteed to squander more.  To me title does not change behaviour.  Behaviour is born of being good with what I have, even when it is a little bit.  I can only be trusted with a lot, if I can be trusted with a little.
But I need to always be on my guard though.  It too easily happens that the minute I think I stand I come a cropper.  This all may be working well for me right now and has done so over the years.  But human nature is a fickle thing.  I need to work at it.  Everything left to itself tends to decay.
