Minors and Majors

This is the second time I have written this.  I lost it.  Some may think I lost it a long time ago, but I am talking about a specific article.
I was thinking that sometimes me needing a good scrub is a bit like dusting really.  I can dust and have the place looking great.  But dusting is never a forever thing.  What looks good now will need doing again in a week.  The dust comes back.
I have a pool at a place I own.  Sometimes it has a special clean and looks great.  A week later it does not look as good.  A week after that it deteriorates further.  It is not like I have invited the dust to use the pool.  Nor have I invited the big things that stare up from the bottom of the pool at me.
Sorta the same when we mow our lawn.  It looks great – for one minute.  Then a leaf falls on it.  Then a plethora of leaves fall on it.  Sure the grass is short but it just makes the viewing of the leaves easier.  We don’t invite the leaves.  We don’t advertise an outdoor party at our place to which they are all invited.  Nope.  They just fall from the tree.  We love that tree. We just don’t love the leaf carpet.
The thing is for me is that sometimes there are things that are not major.  But if I let them accumulate, they can become major.  I guess it is why Merril and I dust and clean and mow regularly.
There can be major stuff.  A big wind can bring down a branch.  Unless I deal with it, it will be a problem to me and others.  At the very least it can be a trip hazard.  It can keep visitors from using the yard.  It can stop us from doing a uey in the yard with our car.  It may not be pleasant; it may be inconvenient, but unless I deal with it I can never use the yard as intended.
My mind is good at going from one thing to another.  I thought of flow charts.  Often they present two alternatives.  If I answer yes, certain options open to me while if I answer no, other options are available.  For tree branches if I say no I can still do things, but they are not the same ones as if I say yes to getting rid of it.
I am big on creating visa’s that give me what I consider are the best alternatives.  We were talking yesterday with someone about painting themselves into a corner.  I don’t want that for me.  Always that means regularly dealing with the minor stuff.  Sometimes I need to deal with major stuff.  My intention is always to have the most options available that are best for me and others.
