Milestones - or should that be Kilometer Stones

Happy New Year!
I actually do not remember a New Years eve as low key.  We had a prayer get together earlier in the evening. There were seven of us.  We spent time praying for each other, others and the new year.  That was definitely time well spent but we were home before nine pm and in bed when the new year clocked over.
In times past we would have people over, play games and light sparklers.  Then we would sing something and hoop and holler in a welcome of the new year.  As we got older it got earlier that we would welcome the new year.  We consoled ourselves with the fact it was new year somewhere in the world.  Bed was calling.
It is only a day but I can never write the date again as 2025.  It now ends in 2026.  I don’t get disagreement anywhere that it seems to be going faster and faster.  Truth is 30’s, 40’s and 50’s just seemed to happen and I hardly remember them.  I just know they flew by.
I actually can not see it being any different from here on in.  I do know that I have a sense like never before that what is left needs to be significant.
Today is actually my day off.  I have things to do and have made a list but no appointment is one of them.  Just as well I guess as very little is open on new years day.  I have some tasks around the home.  Definitely enough to do for the day.  Merril has an assignment she is working on today.
For me it is a lot of tidying up and setting up.  I have dreams but these ones are local.  Very very local – as in rooms in our place specific.
It is cooler this sorning with a cloud cover.  Good for work.  Good also for sleep.  I reckon it will be a combo.
