Make it Happen

Something I hold to is “if it is to be, it is up to me.”  I am very much a “make it happen” person.  But I reckon by the same token I need to be careful.  Make it happen is different in my mind to forcing it to happen.
It seems to me forcing it to happen is fraught.  To me often “not at all” can be better than forcing it to happen wrongly.  A prime example to me was the building in NSW that was structurally unsound.  The people needed to evacuate the building as cracks began to appear.  There was too much haste.    What lay ahead was good, but it was reached prematurely and the necessary checks along the way were not carried out.  What could have lasted ages had its life shortened.
I have mentioned before seeing the holes in the ground and how deep they were determining how high the building was to be.  To me, going for something too soon is like not having the hole for the foundations deep enough.  All can look impressive and right but if the foundations are not adequate then if the building is too high, it is prone to collapse.
I know what it is to be impatient but as I am fond of saying “patience walking dove.”  They talk of the journey being as important as the destination.  In my mind in a sense, it is.  I reckon the time when things are not happening as I imagine or as I intend for them to, is important building time.  It is getting it right.  It is going deeper with the foundations.
If the owners of the building that needed to be abandoned had taken the time to get it right, it would not have ended up the disaster it did.   But haste did make waste.  I do not think haste needs to make waste, but it is more prone to.
I am one for considering before acting.  I know that when I have said or done things without considering the ramifications, or being sure I was understood, things have turned out other than intended.  Considering does not mean never, but I like to err on the side of caution rather than rush in only to find I end up where unintended.
It seems important to me to not only know what I want, but to know how I want to get there.  Things come up and the best laid plans come unstuck but to me best laid is better than shoddily laid.
