Make it Easy

What I have been reading in the last few days has been right up my alley.  It has been all about the way to increase the chances of a necessary task happening.  Making it easy is important.
It is funny how this has become more important to me the older I have gotten.  These days I get aches and pains for no apparent reason.  If this had been said to me 30 years ago I would not have comprehended what was being said.  All I can think is anyone who gets older has this to look forward to, and will understand at that point.
The need to keep it easy has come to light big time for me in recent times.  I am doing a hand over of a cleaning task and watching the person do the task, and then showing them what I do, has brought home to me how easy I am making things.  It is a learning curve though, and I probably did not make it as easy as I do initially.
But one thing I do know about myself is that I am constantly seeing how I can make something as easy as possible, without compromising the goal.
The book talks about how people constantly make the mistake of confusing what he calls motion with task.  It is incredibly common to over plan a task.  I can constantly be learning about, say reading, and do courses to make me a speed reader and be inspired by people that have made it a habit.
But there is one thing I can so easily omit that is vital.  That is to just do it.  It is one thing to be constantly leaning about something and another to just do it.  Really while learning is good, doing it is the only measure of success.  I can be the best theorist in the business but that is not the same as being the best proponent in the business.
Apparently the brain uses tracks which become bigger the more something is done.  That makes it easier.  Tasks are not measured in time (ie how long does it take a habit to form) but in practice (ie how often it is done.)  Something can be commonly thought to take 30 days to become ingrained and done almost without thought.  In reality it can take less if it is done several times a day rather than once a day.
I have found that in recent times, and I have been examining what I do.  What I am finding is that what I want to achieve is not only becoming a habit, but it is changing.  The more I do it the better I get at doing it.
Really if something is what I want and I am on the look out then I grow as a person more than what I initially thought.  Unexpected bonus really.
