Love in Every Language

I heard a phrase this morning that got me thinking.  “Love in every language.”  I had never thought of it like that before, but while words may differ, the action is recognisable no matter the language spoken.
It really does emphasis to me how love is a doing word.  To me what is spoken carries weight proportional to what is done.  As I so often think, words are cheap.  Frequently it seems things are said with the perception that that is what is wanted to hear.
I used to need to report to my boss.  We would have a monthly meeting and I would provide information as it came to hand.  It meant telling it like it was.  Sometimes the news was good and sometimes it was not.  What was important to me, is I conveyed how it was.  No sugar coating.  No making it look better than it was.
To me the only way to make informed decisions was to base them on the actual situation.  I remember saying I thought the place had five years.  I was out by two.  It had seven years and no longer exits.  Technology and rising prices overtook us.  Our income was diminishing, and our expenditure was increasing.
Telling it like it is, is to me, is love in action.   Whether the news is good or bad, conveying it as it is, shows concern not just for me but for all.
Years ago I was staying with a couple and the dad said something to the son I really wished he had not.   The dad was saying how they would do something together tomorrow.  I knew it would not happen, and I think the kid did too.
That to me is not love inn action.  It is saying something that brings temporary relief but has no basis in reality.  Obligations stated are not met.
Yet it can be very much the opposite.  We had to do a trip to collect a number of chairs.  The guy in charge asked if any help was required.  I said any that was available would be appreciated.  I could not believe the help that came to our aid.  What would have taken one person about 30 minutes took a lot of people only minutes.
To me that is love in action.  It was also love in any language.  It was obvious the people that came to our aid were originally from overseas.  Yet that did not matter to me.  Doing beats just words every time.
