Lock Ness Monster

I saw him this morning.  No one was more surprised than me.  No one else being there had nothing to do with it.
It was actually the last thing I expected.  Rumour has it he is in a lock in Scotland.  But as a doctor I had once said “if you were a bug why wouldn’t you live here?”  The climate is warm, the days are mostly nice, and the ground is stable.
Ok it is commonly believed that the Lock Ness monster is more than a bug.  That was one of the reasons I was so surprised.  He must have come up the drainpipe.  That is a long way from home.
And to be in my sudsy washing up water.  Most people would have thought it was a knife handle and the pointy end had been pressed to make it come to the surface and then descend to the depths again.  But I knew better.  It was the Lock Ness monster.  In the washing up water.  I was there.  And surprised.
Another reason I was so surprised is I did not know he could make himself so little.  But there is a lot I do not know about the Lock Ness monster.  Maybe I should have abandoned the washing up and been filming with my phone on camera mode.  But I reckon he would be too smart for that.  People have been trying to film him for years with only blurry glimpses.
There would be those who would vouch that I am a person of sound mind.  I reckon if I paid someone enough, they would say it.  Someone who did not know me of course.  Woops did I think that or say it out loud?  Though if I am having trouble finding someone, I would be happy to vouch for me.
After I saw him, we were able to stay away from each other.  He did not appear again.  I felt a bit bad letting out the water.  After I did, he was nowhere to be seen.  He is probably at this moment in a river somewhere heading out to sea.
I think it best I write about this and sound the warning.  Small fishing boats would be vulnerable.  What starts out as a nice time out fishing within sight of the family, could end in a fight to the death with a strange being.  People would know it was the Lock Ness monster because I have sounded the warning.
But I really do not think I need to worry.  The Lock Ness monster does not have a reputation for attacking small fishing boats.  He is actually fairly shy.  I can vouch for that.  He only appeared briefly in the washing up water and then I did not see him again.
And he did not attack me.  Though I reckon if I had trapped him, it may have been a different story.  Still, as long as I was free to deal with the cups and plates and he stayed where he was, I was ok.  I didn’t mind sharing the water.  Though I would have thought it would be too hot for him being from a cold climate and all.  I just put it down to him liking a bit of warmth for a change.
That experience made for a change.  Normally washing up just involves dealing with dirty dishes and wiping the benches.  But obviously anything can happen.  It is not an everyday occurrence to see the Lock Ness monster.  It reminds me I need to remain on the lookout.
