Lights, Camera, Action

Sometimes I would have liked a camera with me and sometimes the camera is a problem.  It all sort of flies in the face of what is happening these days which is there are camera’s everywhere which capture all sorts of things.
I would have liked to have gotten a shot recently.  We have homing pigeons in the neighbourhood.  They regularly go for a fly together for some exercise and time out of the coop.
What I would have liked to capture on film is seeing the group fly around and a very confused Ibis joining them.  It was something I have never seen before.  A group of pigeons flying together and an Ibis in their midst.  He was way bigger than them and looked so out of place.
I missed an opportunity while on holidays as I watched a bird having a fight with a possum.  I had never seen that before.  Trouble was, I  thought it must happen here all the time and I would capture it tomorrow.  I never saw it again.
I had my camera one time, but I was seeing things.  We were on a walk taking pics of all sorts of things.  I saw something at a distance I thought was a bird.  Click, click, click.  Then I thought as I have some photo’s already, I will get closer and take some more.  It was at that time I told Merril about it.  Her response was “that’s a box.”   Sigh.  Sure enough as I got closer I saw it was.  That sort of explained why it was so still.  How embarresment.  That is between us ok.  Don’t want the world to know.
I did sort of learn from that one.  Merril was recently away, and I thought I saw a Kookaburra asleep on top of our car port.   I say asleep as his head was back towards his body like in a sleeping position.  I got some photo’s while at a distance and thought I would see if I could a closer shot.  It was in getting close I saw it was a palm tree seed pod.  I was glad I saw that before sending pics. to Merril.
I love having a camera, be it my Connon or my phone.  I like to get shots where I can.  Mostly it is fine, but sometimes it comes unstuck big time.
