Life goes on

Today is preparation day.  We are billeting someone for a month. Today we will ensure all is set up and ready to go.  
I will be weeding the front.  First impressions count.  We have had someone supply and lay a heap of mulch in the yard.  But weeds still grow at the edges.  It is those weeds I am going to deal with. I still want to lay pavers at the front to extend parking, and I have more pavers for a sitting area.
Things remain to be done.  They will happen, but to me are not essential.  So I will be working on the outside while Merril attends to the inside of the place.  We think we have all that is needed.   We will get things this afternoon we discover we need but do not have.
Talk about domestic chores.  I also think the fish tank needs cleaning.  We have cleaned the front of the tank so we can see the fish and he us.  Believe it or not from his behaviour he does seem much happier.  He is not now hiding when we feed him, but comes out in anticipation of a feed.  The whole tank will get a good clean today.
It’s funny but I feel Merril’s world is a lot like mine at the moment.  There are things to do and deadlines to meet.  There is a sense of relief when one thing is done, and it is a time to relax.  That might only be for a day or an afternoon before other deadlines loom, and it is time to act again.  But working and relaxing is a good routine.
We enjoy what we are doing and enjoy our time off.  Today is back to the doing stuff and the forecast for a rest tonight is perfect. “Dark, gradually becoming light towards morning.”  I can work with that.
