Land Mines

Wow.  I read something I have never seen put that way, but it seems right to me. “It generally feels better to run toward something than to run away from something. Focus on what is pulling you in, not what you're trying to avoid.”
I must admit that fits in with what I have thought.   One of my key sayings is, “what you focus on grows bigger.”  Study seems to back that up.  I get constantly amazed how subjects seem to become more and more specialized.  What was generalized becomes more and more specific and we know more and more about less and less.
It is one of the reasons I refuse to become involved in many issues.  The cause may be one I adhere to.  It may be something I see is bad for humanity.  Yet in many cases it is only when I am asked my thoughts, I will express them.  What I am wanting to avoid is not seeing the forest for the trees.
What I am endevouring to avoid is getting caught up in what I see as part of the picture.  To give up many for one.  Others may be involved in the one, but it is not me.  They are the things I am running away from.  What I run towards is different.  It may entail all I run away from, but it is not confined to individual dangers.
To me it is like a field with hidden land mines.  There are those tasked with disarming individual land mines.  I will tell others to avoid that field all together.  There will come a day when the field is safe due to the work of others.  But until such a time, I run away from the field and advise others to do the same for their own good (getting blown up is not a good look).
It comes through big time in all I say, that everyone has different roles in achieving the same goal.
