Keeping Busy

The weeds look at me when I walk by and I look at them.  Today started off wet, cold and rainy.  I thought “you beauty.”   But now the sun is shining and I really have no excuse.  Cept there is another front due at the end of the week.  I better hunker down.  No time to weed. 
Somehow that does not seem to cut it.  Oh well.  Maybe if I say it often enough I can convince myself.
I have gotten heaps done though.  I am such a morning person.  I go great guns for a few hours.  It looks like if I kept that up, I would do so much.  Never happens though.  I run out of steam.  The battery goes flat.  I lose power.
Lunch calls.  Yup gotta have lunch.  Just a little sit down and watch the news while I am eating.  Then the bed calls.  Yup just a little lie down to replenish the battery.  Hmmmm.  The battery must have been flatter than I thought.  Besides it is warn and snug in bed.  I…wil…just….watch….
Is that really the time?  Oh well I can do a few things before dark.  Outside jobs.  Cept weeding.  I can do inside jobs with the lights on.  Apart from weeding is that it?  I know I can check the mail.  I will try to ignore those weeds looking at me as I check the box.  Besides, that will give me a chance to get the recycled bin I forgot about yesterday.
So much activity.  Coffee sounds good.  Time to sit and gaze meaningfully into the middle distance.  That should keep me going a while.
But the worms still need feeding.  The person across the road left some food for them today.  Today is my designated day to feed them.  It is more compelling when life depends on me.  I have fed the birds.  That included one I did not mean to feed.  The unwanted Ibis that has started to appear.
Merril tells me they do not like noise.  I let the shed make the noise when he flies up there at my purposeful approach.  He flies away.  Wonder of wonders he does not come back.  I waited out in the yard and everything for him.  It is nice to have a plan work even when it is unexpected.
I look at my list full of crossed off things.  That gives me a sense of satisfaction.  I know.  I’ll do another list.  For tomorrow.  I do need to make one so it may as well be now.
Worms fed.  I did not think I would need to but I was amazed to see they had gone through las weeks stuff.  They do not seem to have put on any weight though.
Also done some weeding.  I am a great out of sight out of mind person.  Anyone walking up our drive way would be forgiven for thinking all was well.  They just do not see what is lurking.
That was not on the list though.  Oh well I can add it and cross it off straight away.
