I reckon we are entering a fraught time.  This is a purely personal opinion.  I think it is really easy to make predictions.  The reason is, none of us have been there, so if I am wrong it is a future thing.  Good chance I am long gone.  When people are right though, I do tend to sit up and take notice.
I can’t get over these people that set a date for the Lords return.  The reference book tells us that no one knows when it will be.  Yet these people set a date and followers wait.  They are still waiting.  Undeterred, the predictor often sets another date.   To me, it is pointless.
Anyway one of the reasons I believe the time ahead is fraught is, one, the technology is available and two, the past represents a good guide.
I see video’s these days of animals talking.  Mostly it is amateurish and it is easy to discern it is not real.  To me it is a bit like sci-fi films used to be.  It was so obvious the creature or whatever it was, was not real.  That is not the case now.  I look at films these days and they are seamless.  Far away worlds and creatures look so real.
I have seen a video of someone in power saying something they never said.  It was humorous and not presented as real. It sure looked real though.  That is what concerns me, and it is where the past being a guide comes in.  Whatever is made can be used for good or ill.  It depends on the user.  My concern is that the technology is available now to incite.  What is reported may never have been true or said, but once it is out there people tend to react.  We see it in some countries with rumours.  Someone heard something and they tell someone else.  The source is not examined or what said confirmed.   Next thing there are major riots.  All based on a baseless rumour.  We only need to look at what we are presented in the media.  It is designed it seems for us to react a certain way.  It works.  Recently someone we know was presented with an alternative view and their comment was I would not have known this.
A case in point was the photo shown.  This is not a commentary on the events but shows how easily we can be misled.  The photo was shown as an army football team kneeling in protest during the national anthem.  It was actually a Navy football team kneeling in prayer before a game.
We support the view of the world the West presents.  The Chinese support what they are fed, as do the Russians.  All it will take is a video of someone saying what they did not say, and who knows where it could lead.
To me it is inevitable.  Often I am a puppet, and believe what I am told.  I do have a choice though, and hope I am not gullible.  Unfortunately, my protest may be just trying to hold back the tide.
