It's Raining it's Pouring

Well that was different. I am feeling a bit like the some says. Australia is a land of droughts and flooding rains. It is like opposites. Yesterday I wrote about being sleep deprived. Today I am writing after having so much sleep. had things to do in the morning. Merril and I made an early start. It is funny even though we went there two hours early it is not like we had nothing to do the whole time.

In fact we often have a coffee and biscuits early. Yesterday we did not have one until later than normal. All that was ok and we sort of expected that would be the case and it is why we had left early.

We also had a lunch appointment with friends. We were a bit late to that but we were not the only ones. The food was delicious and the company good. I must admit something happened for the first time ever and I had a chuckle. I ordered a double sars. So the waiter brought me two sarsaparilla drinks. The poor girl was embarrassed and I said it was ok I would drink both. I must admit that was a challenge. I did get really close. Turned out she deliberately only charged me for one.

After that we had arranged to get some containers for containers for cash. Someone contacted me to say they had several garbage bags of them. I was probably half an hour later to get them then I thought I would be. It was ok though. We got them gratefully.

We then went to the Narangba Containers for Cash. We had no idea what it would be like of a Sunday. We had looked it up online and had seen it was open until 5pm of a Sunday. We got there and it was really quiet. In fact, not one but two guys came to assist us to take our containers in for the counting. We were really thankful for that. They were two young fellas. We have had someone assist us before during the week, but they were obviously working age guys. These looked like kids earning some money. Good on them. They were polite and helpful.

We had over 5,000 containers. After we were finished and I was waiting for Merril to deposit the monies made I spoke to one of the young fella’s asking what Sunday was like. He told me sometimes it was really busy and at other times quiet (like now). He said it had been busy in the morning. Normally I would have waited but it was the end of the month and I wanted the monies to hit the account before the end of the month.

I was glad it had been quiet. I was looking forward to getting home for a sleep. That was when it became like flooding rain. Not having had a lot of sleep before was like the drought and I made up for it like flooding rain. Around 4pm I hit the sack and at about 8pm I got up for a few hours then went back to bed. All in all it was like 11 hours sleep.

I am not complaining mind. I had been doing everything I wanted to be doing. Sleeping was one of them and it happened. Today is dentist day though. Looks like I will have a tooth out. Be glad when that one is over.
