It's Here!

A book I had ordered arrived yesterday. I knew I had ordered one, but I could not remember what it was.  I ordered it from a place called “World of Books.”  It often has second hand books, or books that are hard to get.  What I got ended up being a hard cover book and I was not expecting that.  No complaining mind. 
Trouble is though, while it is definitely good value and delivery is free it can take a while to get what is ordered for some reason.  I ordered it a couple of weeks ago.  Merril ordered another book from elsewhere a couple of days ago.  They both arrived yesterday.
I had to laugh.  We were tracing Merril’s book and it said it would arrive yesterday so we were expecting it.  The guy from Australia Post though did not know that and before he had given us anything Merril declared “that’s us.”
When I got the book I asked myself “why did I order this book?”  I have heard of the writer before.  I have never read any of his stuff but the author (Philip Yancy) is highly regarded.  I’ve decided the main reason I got the book was that I like the title.  “Rumours of Another World”
There are sometimes when something just grabs me.  That title did that and his talking about people that inhabit the borderlands of belief.  I suppose like any good title it sparked my curiosity.
That is not the first time I have done such a thing though.  I have mentioned before I bought a record (back in the days when records were as good as it could be) solely because of the title.  It was called “Local Hero.”  Again I liked the imagery.  I am very much into the potential of the ordinary or “don’t look twice” person.
I hope this latest experience is as good as the Local Hero one was.  Turned out it was music predominantly by Mark Knopfler.  It was a great album.
