It Could Happen

If your dream is not impossible, it isn’t big enough.  It does not seem fair.  I heard that as I was dozing off.  Per chance to dream.  It was not like to dream the impossible dream or anything.  I did not show real bravery in the face of a paper cut or anything.
But that saying did stick with me.  I like it.  It reinforced to me that the plans I have really are not big enough.  I need to multiply their size.  My dreams need to be bigger than doable.  At the moment they are maybe large, but they are manageable.
A word I am really liking at the moment is abundant.  To me it speaks of more than enough.  I remember a singer singing “In order to dream you still gotta be asleep.”  Well mine are not sleep at night dreams.  They are daydreams.  They are not the sort of dreams at night brought on by too much pizza.  Or the sort of dreams that have no connection with reality at all.  They are seeing what could happen, and working towards making it happen.
It seems to me often daydreams get a bad rap.  To me anything in excess is bad.  But everyone needs time to dream.  There is a time to dream and a time to work.  For me activities are built on dreams.  Achieving something is built on dreaming of achieving something.
For certain sometimes my dreams invade the night and what I think about and work towards carries over to my sleep.  But my dreams are embedded in reality.  But this saying suggests to me (and rightly so I feel) that my dreams need to be supersized.
One thing I do know about myself is that order is important to me.  I really enjoy turning a chaotic place into a place of order.  It can be a big task.  A seemingly impossible task.  Yet the key for me is the word “seemingly.”  I like to break things into bite sized chunks and whittle away at something.
For me the key to any task is getting started.  Often that is the hardest part.  So when it comes to tasks, I like to dedicate some time to it.  I may think something will take about an hour or so and that is the amount of time I set for it.  So often it takes quite a bit longer than that, but to me it does not matter.  For me starting is the hardest part.  Often once I have started, I get on a roll.  Even something that may have been unexciting to me in the first instance, is seen in a new light and my desire is to complete it well.
Merril and I have a philosophy that we will always endeavour to leave a place better than what we found it.  Sometimes that can be a challenge, but I do not think we have failed yet.  It is like doing abundantly above what is expected.  It may be unnecessary, but it is fulfilling.  When we can, we return to gaze on what has been achieved.
I sort of feel my dreams need to be like that.  Bringing order out of chaos abundantly.  Not just achieving enough but more than enough.  I win.  Others win.  Everyone wins!
