It Ain't Over Till It's Over

Well it turned out to be a pretty untypical typical day.
We turned up to something and it became obvious that people set down to do something were not going to be there to do it.  So Merril and I sprang into action and did the task others had been assigned.  Thankfully someone said they would do the later part so we could relax with that.
There was another task that the someone expected was not available to do, so again someone else thankfully stepped in and assisted.  I loved what someone said who was totally unaware of any dramas.   It takes so much effort to make something look effortless.  Everything did work out and it looked effortless.
That afternoon someone came around to look at something we and others could not get to work.  They could not get it to work either.  It was recommended we take it to an expert.  The consensus was it is likely to be something simple that needs doing to a complicated device.
That is what we will do.  They left but not before we had had a very deep and meaningful discussion.  We asked for it but were totally absorbed.
Later that day Merril and I visited someone organizing an event we are involved in helping happen.  I have done this sort of thing before.  The question so often is why am I putting myself through this?  Yet the event comes and goes so quickly.  If something is right to do it is right despite hardship.
There is a general consensus that we will all be glad when it is done yet we are all glad to be doing it.  It is slated for next weekend, so we feel we are on the home straight.  There are a number of things to happen to be in readiness.  The object is for it all to look seamless and impressive.
We are actually glad for a deadline.  Things need to happen and what is happening is making it happen.  Open ended things tend to go on and on.
It does not help us that this was a crazy week already.  It is not often I do up a calendar of things happening this week.  But I did that to see what times I am not busy.  Having worked that out I know what time I have to give to other things.
We are glad and think this is great.  But as they say often something worthwhile is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.  In this heat the 90% perspiration comes easily.
