Really?  Who gets excited by a new shed?  In a word – we do.  But that is two words.  In two words – we do. But we could be anyone.  In four words – Merril and I do.  Our new shed has been installed. We have plans, dreams, desires, a vision.  But they will need to wait.
Right now all I feel like doing is getting under the covers as it is a cold day.  I could eat too.  I think I can forget about the bell.  I suggested to Merril I could ring the bell from my bed and have lunch delivered.  She wasn’t into it.  In fact, she threated violence against any poor unsuspecting bell I got.  Don’t know why.  Works for me.
The guys arrived about 7am to install the shed.  Any other day I would have been up hours and awaiting their arrival.  Not today though.  Last night Merril and I had a watch tv night.  We watched the whole Chernobyl series.  Went to bed about 1.30am.  I was up around 5.30.  I did a few things zombie like.
I had stored the windows away from where we had been doing stuff.  While I was moving the last one to a place nearer where the work was to be done, I heard a vehicle.  It occurred to me that could be them and I dismissed it.  I opened the car port door only to be greeted with a “hello.”  They were here.
Normally Merril and I greet people like we have been waiting forever and are just a part of the landscape.  Not today though.  I staggered about telling one guy not what was, but what was to be (ie where to get a tea or coffee if wanted.)  Today though that was just a promise.  There were still things to do.  Mrs Kuskie was nowhere to be seen.  Eventually she did emerge all regal like and I gotta say she is really good at putting people at ease.
We would rather them earlier than later, but we were not ready.  Didn’t matter.  They were not here to talk to us, but to install a shed.  It was like a military operation.  Each one knew their job and did it.
Merril and I were in the enclosure very much looking forward to them finishing.  They did it inside three hours.  Made it look easy.  One guy said they had another to install today that was not as hard.  Really?  Not as hard?  They made this one look like it was not hard.
So we have a shed now.  And because it needed to be away from the back-fence line (there is an underground pipe), we also have a place for the trailer.
I do not know that I have every had as much difficulty organizing the trades to do things in the right order.   There was a while it seemed like nothing but a fantasy.  Still, that is in the past now.  I’m looking at a shed.  A new shed.  Trouble is, I know the novelty will wear off and it will be like it was always there.  But it is not like that now.  It is new.  A shed.  Right there.  I raise my eyes and I am looking at a new shed.
But I hear stuff to go in there calling me.  But I am ignoring that call.  There is a time and a place for everything.  Now is the time for a nap.  The place to do it is under the covers.
