Incogneto

I have been sort of incognito for the last couple of days.  The reason is, I have volunteered for a couple of things at the church Merril and I attend.
One role I have is helping with the Finances.  The other role is helping with the Web site.  Both these things are sort of up my ally, as I have had experience with them.  I probably know just enough to be dangerous actually.
Anyway I really like smaller churches.  It sure is not my desire they stay small, but a reason I like them is that everyone gets an opportunity.  Put it this way, in a big church there will probably be really qualified people to do the job who would rightly be chosen.  I may be qualified, but never get the chance.  With something the size of what we attend, it is all hands on deck.
It does not matter if an organization is 20 or 2000 strong they all need a Secretary, President and Treasurer.  It is probably very similar to when we pack to go away.  I have found it does not matter if I am going for a day or two weeks, there are some basics I will always need.  In some ways it makes me look like I am going for a long time, when I may not be.
Anyway, the situation with looking after the web has become more urgent as the person currently doing it, is moving out of the area.  It looks like the web may become my role if I want it.
However it is not about what I want but what the Head Honcho, El Supremo, Number One wants.  I feel I can do this, as that was my role at work.  I was responsible only for presenting the facts and where there was a problem offering possible solutions.  The final decision was not mine to make.
As I have indicated before, I learned extensively Drupal (a lady at work said there are tablets for that) and I ran a successful site on that platform.  I started learning WordPress (which the current site is built on), but decided I was over learning like that needed.  I now run sites on Weebly.  It is drag and drop.  Weebly do a lot of the work for me (at a price).  The site I am working on, is built on Wix.  I had never used it before, but it is easy thankfully.
In looking at reviews on drag and drop site builders, Weebly was higher in one and Wix in another. Another review had them reversed.  The number of users of both, numbers in the millions.  Judging by the templates available, they can look really professional.  I am the amateur, and not the program.  I am trying to ensure everything on the current site is available on the new one.  So far so good.

Anyway, that is why I have not been around.  I see setting this up as a seasonal thing.  The season will be over.  However right now it is not.
