Impulse

I was thinking about this a good bit of yesterday and decided I would try to put my thoughts to paper.  It is a bit of a theory of mine.  When I have tested it, no one has convinced me otherwise.
We are seeing an upturn in what I describe as “impulse” crimes.  That is, a thought happens and is acted upon without thought of consequences.  There are ideas circulated as to why this is seen more often - like instant access via phone video’s to what is happening everywhere.  That is true to me in that we have greater access to immediacy.  Yet to me although I see actions more immediately it does not explain why it is happening.
My theory is this.  In this day and age many are spending hours playing violent games online which do not have real world consequences.  I saw this in person when a game was set up at work on the computers in the office.  I do not know what it was called but the object was to shoot the opponent and be the last one standing.  I did not know what was going on when my character would not respond.  I was dead.  Yet low and behold I came back to life to have another go at eliminating people.
Add to this cyber bullying being a 24/7 thing these days combined with the throwing out of any moral compass and it seems to me a group of people has been created that has no reasonable reference point.  The desire is to eliminate or silence all others so a perpetrator can be the last one standing.
I have seen on the news a few examples of this.  Where someone deliberately leaves the road to run down someone walking or another shoots up people. In games people come back to life.  In life it is the end of one life and beginning of another.   Or in the case of bullying suicide rates of young girls have sky-rocketed.
My theory is when something is done for hours in the comfort of someone’s room without obvious consequence, the feeling is that the same actions in real life are inconsequential.  They are not. (it is stated that this represents a small group of people that are vulnerable.  My feeling is that group is growing, and the consequences of actions touch many)
That to me is not all there is to the story and my hope is built on someone who saw it all coming,, but it seems the human race is living with the consequences of what they themselves have created. 
It is commonly said in regards to computing, “garbage in, garbage out.”  Too me I am seeing that firsthand.  I personally am not anti-technology.  It can in my view be used for good or bad.  Society to me is seeing the consequence of the bad.
